The Idea of the Church Christmas Banquet

The idea of the Church Christmas Banquet is to raise money for whatever the church is doing to maintain it's actions towards the community. The banquet is a large meal or feast with amazing food, appetizers and desserts. In this case, this banquet is used for charity for the church but banquets are usually serve purposes such as a charitable gathering, a ceremony, or a celebration or speeches in honour of someone. This banquet, all of us are planning to cook, be waiters or waitresses or clean dishes. We will try our best do do our best job as possible and raise a lot or money as possible for the church!


The reason why we know about this banquet is because we (Riley, Caue and Me) always go to this church for youth and for special occasions. The people who work there made an announcement that they will be holding a banquet and we all thought that this was a good idea for fundraising and doing our health project, so we all agreed to join in. And what's the point of staying home on a Friday night when we can have fun, right?




The church we go to is a Pentecostal church which goes by the name - Bridges Church.
And no research was needed!

Pre Volunteering

So basically, we don't have to really do anything for the banquet. All we have to do is basically get there. Caue will arrive at his own time, Riley and I will get a ride from my father. And will usually meet there at
5: 30, Youth starts at 6, but 7:00 is when the banquet actually started. When we got there, J-Lee, the reverend at the church gave us intructions to work out the banquet, we all got divided into different sections - dish cleaning, serving or cooking. Riley and I got dish cleaning and cooking and Caue got to serve, though I did a little bit of serving.

Volunteering

As you know, Riley and I got cleaning dishes and cooking while Caue got serving. On behalf of Riley and Caue. We thought that the activities we got were all fun and cool! W loved our job! It was fantastic in helping people with dinners for the night.

Riley and I did the simple cooking but mostly the dish cleaning. Riley did the dish cleaning and I did the drying. Since I was the camera person, I didn't want to get my camera wet. I also took picture for the church too, so I was like everywhere! And plus, when it come to other people holding my camera, I feel ughh because I don't trust anyone with my camera. There, the church staffs made chicken, ham, smashed potatoes, Caesar salad, crab on crackers, garlic spreaded toast, roast beef and more than we can remember!
